WorkforceQA recently submitted comments to the Department of Transportation (DOT) and Office of Drug and Alcohol Policy and Compliance (ODAPC) regarding proposed changes in procedures for transportation workplace drug and alcohol testing programs. In the comments WorkforceQA supported the addition of expanded opiates (hydrocodone, hydromorphone, oxymorphone, and oxycodone) in the DOT drug testing panel, removal of blind specimen testing, and addition of a requirement to subscribe to the DOT ODAPC list-serve resource for collector, screening test technician, breath alcohol technician, substance abuse professional and MRO qualification. Comments were also made regarding changing some verbiage of the proposed regulations.
